Don’t Forget! Tips & suggestions
·
Warm up
jump(s) – one per ring
·
Some or all
bar jumps can be “winged” (most judges expect to have a few available!)
·
Allow for
extra jump(s) on course to be traps, but not a numbered obstacle
·
Have extra
jump bars on hand. It is traditional that the club gives the jump bar from
the last jump to any team earning their MACH at the trial. It is not
unusual that more than one team earns this on the same weekend at the same
trials.
·
Chute fabric
can be reduced to 6 feet in rain, sleet or snow
·
Small
measuring tape is easier to use for measuring broad jump than the larger
course building tapes
·
Equipment
mgr. should bring a toolbox of common tools, rubber mallet & lots of duct
tape on trial day
·
Secretary
will need to hand score sheets & running order somewhere (side of a truck,
on a wall, taped flat on a table or provide an easel for them)
·
Judges will
need to know how long you open tunnel is, 8 or 12 ft. dog walk, and a
breakdown of how many winged vs. regular bar jumps are available before they
design their course.
